VENUS-350(c) ELAZAR: pay for a managed restore path (pitr off, backups empty) - sequence behind the VENUS-442 restore-drill answer
ELAZAR DECISION (c), split out of VENUS-350 on 2026-10-06. A spend call, nobody else's. ASK: pay for a managed restore path on the venus Supabase project. CURRENT MEASURED STATE: pitr_enabled=false and backups=[] - there is no provider-side restore capability at all. The only restore path that exists is the self-run gpg-encrypted pg_dump lane into a consumer cloud mount, and per VENUS-442 step 2 it is not established that a restore has EVER been exercised against those dumps. WHAT THE MONEY BUYS: a restore path that does not depend on our own script, our own passphrase, our own gdrive account, and our own untested procedure all holding simultaneously. WHAT MAKES IT A REAL DECISION rather than an obvious yes: the dump lane may well be adequate, and if VENUS-442 step 2 comes back with a successfully exercised restore drill, the marginal value of paying drops a lot. So SEQUENCE THIS BEHIND VENUS-442 step 2 - do not put the spend question to him before the drill answer exists, because the answer changes what he is deciding. Present it as: drill result, what PITR would add on top of it, and the price. No recommendation from me until the drill answer lands; I am not asking him to spend against an unmeasured alternative.
