lock steal predicate: add resource-touch age alongside poll-age, gated on renewal adoption
Design-only WI (no code). MSG-362 gap: LOCK_STEAL_POLL_AGE_S decides a holder is dead from last_poll_at silence, which measures whether the holder's SHIM is polling, not whether its WORK is alive. coder02-mba-l-cc proposed replacing it with resource-touch age (no renew, no unlock for N x that resource's median). Two corrections to that ask, both measured. (1) Do NOT replace poll-age - ADD touch-age as a second sufficient condition. Replacing exposes the existing 0.5 x ttl no-history fallback to live non-renewing holders, which poll-age shields today; pinned and NULL-poll holders stay never-stealable and the acquired_at-based condition is unchanged. (2) N x the resource median is the wrong basis: the median is null on dev01-deploy, the resource that motivated the request, because its holds lapse (event=expire) rather than release and stmtLockMedianHold counts only releases. Prefer the holder's own renewal cadence inside the current hold - the gaps between consecutive acquire rows since this hold's first acquire; needs no resource history, no schema change, no API change, and >=2 acquire rows is exactly the condition under which touch-age carries information at all. Alternative for PM: a declared renews:true flag on lock(), explicit rather than inferred, but an API change with zero adopters today. MEASURED BLOCKER: on a VACUUM INTO copy of v2.sqlite, lock_events holds 169 acquire / 160 release / 6 expire / 1 steal_denied, and only 3 acquires are extends (2 holders, gaps 299-393s). With ~2% of holds renewing there is no evidence base for a cadence predicate, so MSG-362 gap (i) - renewal running for the lifetime of the subprocess, not between steps - is a PREREQUISITE, not a sibling. Unblock condition: re-run the extend query (LAG(event) OVER (PARTITION BY resource, holder ORDER BY ts, id) = 'acquire' on lock_events) and find materially more than 3 of 169; then author Option A.
