Práctica edit-quota lock counts OPENS not saves. Measured on práctica f5234762 (Agustina Maggio): 3 opens 2026-08-14, last alive 60s, zero writes in vPracticaHistorial, now locked until 2026-08-16 18:43 ART. Un-burn only fires on explicit zero-change cancel — abandoning the tab (closing without cancel) still costs a slot. Elazar has the finding, awaiting his ruling on whether to un-burn a lock that expires with no write before scoping the fix.

Root cause corrected by coder-mars-cc (see MARS-647): Agustina did not abandon the editor idly — she burned all 3 opens hunting for a radiografía-upload control that /mi-cursada/[id]/editar lacked (bare unlabelled file input vs. /practicas/nueva's visible 'Agregar' button). Quota behaved as designed; the UI defeated her. Affordance fixed 8504bc3/v2.74.7 (MARS-647). The un-burn-on-zero-write-expiry idea in this WI's original description is still a valid, separate finding — kept open, still pending Elazar's ruling.
