  Measured 2026-09-11 by coder-apiimages-cc from the box (find over the real tree): mars 16223 live + 165 trash = 16388 files, 2095883752 bytes = 2.096 GB. Whole hosting account 2223217910 bytes; api-images is 96.3% of it, mars alone 94.3%. 8.9% of the 25e9 configured floor. Accrual steady ~4000 files / ~520 MB per month with no acceleration (Apr 373, May 3443, Jun 4271, Jul 2845, Aug 4080, Sep 1208 in 11 days), giving ~43 months of headroom to the floor. RETENTION NOT NEEDED, and there is no lever anyway: Elazar ruled 2026-09-05 (mars-commons 742a28e) that an image is retained for the lifetime of its parent practicas row with no age-based expiry. Figures feed VENUS-278, which must read /stats storage{} live rather than reuse these - they are one day's reading.
