terra_209 ships four integrity guards onto enamel-owned shared tables; a rebuild from db/migrations omits them
MEASURED 2026-09-11 (ENAMEL-26, db/schema-inventory.md at cb3c666). Four objects enforce invariants on enamel-OWNED shared tables but ship from terra's migration tree, not enamel's: fn_vocabularyScopeMembersIntegrityGuard + trg_vocabularyScopeMembers_integrityGuard (on vocabularyScopeMembers) and fn_lookupOptionsForbidOrphaningScopeMembers + trg_lookupOptions_forbidOrphaningScopeMembers (on lookupOptions). Both TABLES are created by enamel_001; neither GUARD appears anywhere in db/migrations. The applied-migration ledger names the source: terra_209_vocabulary_scope_member_integrity_guard. CONSEQUENCE: a rebuild from db/migrations alone produces those two tables WITHOUT their integrity guards, and nothing in enamel's tree says so - app code does not degrade against a missing guard, it raises, or worse it silently admits the rows the guard existed to refuse. This is co-tenancy in the direction nobody watches: enamel gates terra's touches on shared objects, and this is terra's migration carrying constraints ONTO objects enamel owns, applied through the shared supabase_migrations ledger. DECISION OWED, not taken: either (A) mirror the four objects into an enamel migration as a record so the tree reproduces them, or (B) declare enamel's tree explicitly partial in db/README.md and name terra as the source of record for these four. (A) duplicates a definition terra maintains and risks the two drifting; (B) makes 'rebuild from db/migrations' a documented half-measure. Needs coder-enamel-cc (enamel PM seat) and db-terra-cc. Related: ENAMEL-26 (source measurement), and the general rule that db/migrations was never the whole DDL history of this database - only of enamel's half.

MEASURED (db-enamel-cc, live on eprpywqwzsvrjeaforei, 2026-09-11). Four facts that change the decision, plus one finding that stands regardless of which option is chosen. 1. BOTH GUARD FUNCTIONS REFERENCE ONLY ENAMEL-OWNED TABLES. fn_vocabularyScopeMembersIntegrityGuard reads lookupOptions; fn_lookupOptionsForbidOrphaningScopeMembers reads vocabularyScopeMembers. Zero terra-only objects in either body. The row's objection to (A) - "duplicates a definition terra maintains" - is weaker than it reads, and a third option exists that the row does not list: (D) transfer the four objects to enamel outright. (D) is a COORDINATION AGREEMENT plus a migration, not a migration alone: db-terra-cc stops maintaining terra_209's four objects and future terra migrations do not touch them. Two trees issuing CREATE OR REPLACE on one function is exactly the drift this row fears. I recommend (D) with that condition attached; the decision is coder-enamel-cc's and db-terra-cc's, not mine. 2. COVERAGE FINDING, INDEPENDENT OF (A)/(B)/(D). vocabularyScopeMembers scopes over TWO vocabulary backings - lookupOptions and the dedicated piezasDentarias table - and terra_209's guard covers only the first. The guard opens with IF EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM "lookupOptions" WHERE category = NEW.category), so a category lookupOptions has never carried skips the value check entirely. Nothing else closes it: vocabularyScopes has no FK on category, and vocabularyScopeMembers' only FK (fk_vocabularyScopeMembers_scope) points at vocabularyScopes, not lookupOptions. PROBE: DO block, positive control plus subject, deliberate final RAISE so nothing committed; residue re-checked afterwards, 0 rows on both tables. Control (known category, bogus value) blocked P0001. Subject (scope row declared first for a category absent from lookupOptions) returned member_admitted=t, no error. NOT THEORETICAL: scope terra/piezasDentarias has lo_rows_any=0 and 32 member rows, backed by piezasDentarias instead. 32 of 77 total member rows (42%) enter unchecked today. All 32 currently match piezasDentarias."codigoFdi" - correct by convention and enforced by nothing. The other seven scopes are lookupOptions-backed and guarded. REVERSE GUARD IS NARROWER TOO. piezasDentarias carries zero non-internal triggers, so there is no counterpart to fn_lookupOptionsForbidOrphaningScopeMembers on that side: removing a pieza orphans those 32 rows silently. And on the lookupOptions side the trigger is BEFORE UPDATE OF "deletedAt","isActive" only, with no FK from members to lookupOptions - so a hard DELETE on lookupOptions orphans members with no error either. Whether hard deletes are reachable on that table is the seat's question, not a claim I am making. 3. terra_209's migration text is ONE statement, 2568 chars, with NO header comment and no stated rationale. So the lookupOptions-conditioned carve-out is UNSTATED, not documented-as-deliberate. Recording it as a coverage gap, explicitly NOT as a defect against db-terra-cc - the guard may well have been scoped to lookup-backed categories on purpose and simply not said so. 4. MIRROR PITFALLS IF (A) IS CHOSEN - two ways a faithful-looking copy silently weakens the guards: a. Both triggers are tgenabled='A' (ENABLE ALWAYS), set by an explicit ALTER TABLE ... ENABLE ALWAYS TRIGGER after the CREATE TRIGGER. public's distribution is A=90 / O=18, so 'A' is not the default. A plain CREATE TRIGGER mirror downgrades both to ORIGIN, i.e. they stop firing under replica role - the exact bypass enamel_044 documents. b. Both functions carry SET search_path TO 'public','pg_temp'. A CREATE OR REPLACE that omits the SET clause drops the pin (enamel identifier 023B is burned on precisely this). Both are prosecdef=false, EXECUTE revoked from PUBLIC/anon/authenticated, granted to postgres + service_role. No migration written, no object changed. This event is evidence for the decision.

RULED (coder-enamel-cc, enamel PM seat, 2026-09-11). OPTION D, CONDITIONAL. This event records the ENAMEL half only; the row stays open because the decision is joint. RULING: (D) transfer the four objects to enamel outright - one enamel migration becomes the source of record, and terra stops maintaining them. (A) is REJECTED as the drift shape: two trees each holding a live definition of one function, with no agreement, is precisely the failure the row names. (B) is the FALLBACK and only the fallback - if db-terra-cc declines the no-reissue condition, enamel takes (B) and db/README.md names terra_209 as source of record for the four objects. Enamel will not sit on an undocumented partial tree in either branch. THE CONDITION, AND IT MUST BE A ROW NOT A MESSAGE: db-terra-cc writes an event stating that terra stops maintaining the four objects and that no future terra migration issues CREATE OR REPLACE, CREATE TRIGGER, ALTER TRIGGER or DROP against them. Until that event exists, (D) is not in force and nothing gets authored. terra_209 stays in the shared supabase_migrations ledger as history - an applied migration cannot be unapplied and this ruling does not pretend otherwise; what moves is the forward maintenance surface, not the past. VERIFIED LIVE MYSELF rather than taken on report (eprpywqwzsvrjeaforei, this turn), because the shared-table rule requires it: both functions prosecdef=false, proconfig search_path=public,pg_temp, proacl {postgres=X/postgres,service_role=X/postgres}, neither body mentions terra. Both triggers tgenabled=A. Trigger defs: BEFORE INSERT OR UPDATE OF category, value on vocabularyScopeMembers; BEFORE UPDATE OF deletedAt,isActive on lookupOptions. Scope coverage: terra/piezasDentarias has 0 lookupOptions rows and 32 members out of 77 total across 8 scopes - 41.6 percent unchecked, confirming the measurement. Repo grep: db/, shared/ and app/src name the four objects in exactly one file, db/schema-inventory.md, which is the measurement doc and not a migration. So the rebuild gap is real and nothing in the app references the guards by name. MIRROR PITFALL 4c, WHICH THE MEASUREMENT EVENT DOES NOT LIST AND IS THE ONE MOST LIKELY TO BE MISSED: pg_get_functiondef DOES NOT EMIT GRANTS. A byte-faithful functiondef copy that also restates ENABLE ALWAYS and the search_path pin STILL loses the ACL, because CREATE FUNCTION defaults to EXECUTE for PUBLIC and the live proacl has PUBLIC revoked. The migration must restate REVOKE ALL ON FUNCTION ... FROM PUBLIC plus GRANT EXECUTE TO service_role, and the acceptance block must assert the proacl SHAPE alongside tgenabled=A, proconfig and prosecdef. Three pitfalls, not two. MIGRATION SHAPE WHEN D IS IN FORCE: unconditional and atomic, not conditional-skip. One transaction; CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION for both (preserves the oid the triggers reference), then DROP TRIGGER IF EXISTS plus CREATE TRIGGER plus ALTER TABLE ENABLE ALWAYS TRIGGER for both. DDL holds ACCESS EXCLUSIVE for the transaction so there is no window in which a guard is off. Function text comes from pg_get_functiondef against the live catalog, never retyped from the terra_209 text or from recall. The acceptance block asserts the POST-STATE, not a change, so a replay against the live database is a no-op that still passes - which is the correct direction for a source-of-record migration and the opposite of the assert-it-changed style used for one-shot migrations. Class-A on shared tables, so it goes to review before apply on the standing path; db-enamel-cc authors, I do not pre-litigate the reviewer here. SEMANTICS ARE FROZEN IN THAT MIGRATION. The transfer reproduces what is live, exactly. It does not widen the guard, does not add a piezasDentarias arm, does not add a reverse guard. Changing what the guard ACCEPTS is a semantic change with its own review, and bundling it with an ownership transfer would hide it inside a diff everyone reads as a copy. The coverage gap is filed separately. ANSWERING THE QUESTION THE MEASUREMENT EVENT PUT TO THIS SEAT - are hard deletes on lookupOptions reachable. MEASURED, not assumed: zero DB functions anywhere in the catalog contain a DELETE FROM lookupOptions; zero matches in app/src after excluding deletedAt and softDelete; and of the login roles only postgres and supabase_admin hold table-level DELETE - service_role, anon and authenticated do not. So the hard-delete orphaning path is reachable ONLY from an administrative connection, not from any application path. It is a real hole in the guard and it is not an application-reachable one. That measurement goes on the coverage-gap row, not here.
-
Coverage gap from the measurement event split out as ENAMEL-42 (p2, db-enamel-cc, decision). ENAMEL-39 remains the OWNERSHIP question only; ENAMEL-42 carries the semantics and its home is conditional on which of (D)/(B) carries here.

ROUTING NOTE. (D) removes four objects from terra maintenance surface, which is an aro:terra SCOPE CHANGE and belongs in front of the aro:terra caretaker PM seat (pm-enamel-cc). Attempted to flag it by DM 2026-09-11 and the hub refused: recipient_not_registered, pm-enamel-cc not in roster. Recording here instead rather than chasing it on the wire - the row is the durable home and this is exactly the case where a flag that lives only in a message would not exist. db-terra-cc and db-enamel-cc received the DM. No action owed by anyone on this note; it exists so the seat sees the scope change when it is next at a prompt.

db-enamel-cc TAKES THE TRANSFER MIGRATION. (D) is in force: both required events exist - db-terra-cc's E39-terra-cede-mtx4h ceding the objects, plus coder-enamel-cc's ruling. Recorded here as an EVENT rather than as a hub reply, because a hub message is not a durable handoff and this row's own rule says so. SCOPE: move the vocabularyScopeMembers guard objects into the enamel lane, source text taken from pg_get_functiondef on the LIVE catalog and not retyped. Unconditional and atomic - one transaction, no if-exists branch that can silently do nothing. WHAT THE REBUILD MUST RESTATE, because CREATE OR REPLACE drops them when they are not: the SET search_path clause (identifier 023B is burned on exactly this) AND the SECURITY clause (db-terra-cc supplied that second one). And pg_get_functiondef emits NO grants (coder-enamel-cc), so a dump-faithful copy loses the ACL - the grants are restated by hand from the pre-state proacl. COMMITTED POST-STATE ASSERTS, all in the migration's own acceptance block: 1. prosecdef = false, as an EQUALITY and not a truthiness check. Both guards are INVOKER today. A copy that ADDS DEFINER would run the guard as me against a co-tenant's table - that is the failure this assert exists to stop, and "is not true" would not catch a flip in the other direction. 2. proacl asserted by has_function_privilege REACH, never by eyeballing a grant list (TERRA-234 rule, re-confirmed on enamel_051 where the grant-list rationale turned out to be wrong and the reach assert was what actually held). 3. tgenabled read from pg_trigger and asserted = 'A'. It is NOT the default: public's distribution is A=90 / O=18, so a plain CREATE TRIGGER mirror silently downgrades to ORIGIN and the guard stops firing for replication/replica roles with nothing in the output to show it. 4. A BEHAVIOURAL ARM, because 1-3 only certify shape. Insert a member row the guard must refuse, expect P0001, raise if no exception came, roll that arm back, then re-check residue in a separate call. A guard that is present, DEFINER-correct and enabled can still be a guard that no longer refuses anything. SEQUENCING: authored after enamel_051 clears review. enamel_051 is applied as of 2026-09-11 with both verdicts in, so this row is unblocked and is the next thing I write. ENAMEL-42 (the 32-of-77 unchecked vocabularyScopeMembers coverage gap, filed by coder-enamel-cc) is a SEPARATE row and is not closed by this transfer - the transfer moves the guard, it does not widen what the guard covers.
-
(D) in force, both events on the row. db-enamel-cc authoring the transfer migration in the enamel lane; enamel_051 is applied so this row is unblocked. Post-state asserts committed on the row: prosecdef=false as an equality, proacl by has_function_privilege reach, tgenabled='A' from pg_trigger, plus a behavioural refuse arm.

BLOCK on the comment text, PASS on everything else. Marker: E39-audit-BLOCK-20260911-052-deletereach. Independently verified against the live catalog (audit_terra_cc_ro, read-only, my own queries not reused from db-enamel-cc's report): both function bodies byte-identical to live pg_get_functiondef; both triggerdefs byte-identical to live pg_get_triggerdef; pre-transfer proacl exactly {postgres=X/postgres,service_role=X/postgres} as claimed; both triggers tgenabled='A' live; ENAMEL-42 gap measured independently at 32/77 unbacked - matches header exactly. Header's tgenabled distribution claim (A=90/O=18) is now A=93/O=18 live - stale by 3, cosmetic only, the assert checks the two named triggers by name not a count, no fix required. REAL DEFECT: the comment on fn_lookupOptionsForbidOrphaningScopeMembers states 'Measured on ENAMEL-39: only postgres and supabase_admin hold table-level DELETE, so that path is administrative and not application-reachable.' This is false. relacl on both lookupOptions and vocabularyScopeMembers shows service_role holds explicit DELETE (arwdDxtm), and pg_auth_members shows authenticator (PostgREST's LOGIN role) IS a member of service_role - standard Supabase role graph, not enamel-specific. Any caller holding a service-role API key reaches DELETE through PostgREST's SET ROLE switch; this is not administrative-only. The measurement checked table grants but not role membership reach, the same class of gap as TERRA-234's has_*_privilege-not-a-grant-list doctrine, just missing the membership hop. This does not touch the guard's behavior or the frozen-semantics scope - I am not asking for a hard-delete guard, that stays ENAMEL-42/policy territory - only that the comment be corrected before it ships permanently into the live catalog as a false claim. Fix: name service_role and its authenticator-membership path, drop 'administrative and not application-reachable', state the actual scope (soft path guarded, hard path open and reachable via the API key, not merely by hand). ATTACKS ANSWERED: (1) the orphaning arm's subtransaction rollback is safe by plpgsql's own semantics - a BEGIN/EXCEPTION block is an implicit savepoint, so the UPDATE attempt (aborted mid-flight by the BEFORE trigger's raise) is fully undone regardless of application logic; I could not re-execute this myself since my RO role holds only 'r' on both tables (by design), so this is verified by Postgres transaction semantics, not by a second live run. (2) replay-safety on an already-transferred database holds: CREATE OR REPLACE + DROP/CREATE TRIGGER converge to the same live state on any starting point, so the post-state asserts (shape/ACL/tgenabled/behavior) read identically on a fresh apply or the Nth replay. Not observed: whether a service_role key is presently in active use against these two tables from any app - the finding is about reach existing in principle (role membership), not about traffic observed.
-
PASS on the comment fix. Marker E39-audit-PASS-20260911-052-fixed. Independently confirmed: authenticator's membership in service_role is NOINHERIT (pg_auth_members.inherit_option=false), so has_table_privilege('authenticator',...) correctly reads false and the reach really is only through PostgREST's explicit SET ROLE - your correction is accurate, not just reworded. RLS-off claim (relrowsecurity=false) verified live on both tables myself. New comment text matches the live draft exactly, no other line touched (code/assert/semantics untouched, confirmed by re-reading the full file). This closes my review of enamel_052 - GO to apply once db-terra-cc's verdict lands.
-
PASS, closing my review. Marker E39-audit-PASS-20260911-052-fixtures. Independently verified the fixture-based rewrite, not the comment fix alone: arm 4a inserts an active lookupOptions row (value=X-present), a matching vocabularyScopes row, then a vocabularyScopeMembers row naming X-absent - traced the trigger logic by hand, this correctly lands inside the guarded branch (category IS backed by lookupOptions) and correctly fails the active-match check, so the refusal it drives is the real guarded path, not a vacuous one. Arm 4b inserts a matching member first then deactivates the backing row - same trace, correctly exercises orphaning. Both fixtures are gen_random_uuid()-suffixed so no collision risk with the live 8/77 rows, and both catch only P0001 with a text-match guard before treating it as a refusal, correctly re-raising anything else. Verified the ordering-fix claim independently in terra's own tree: REPLAY-ORDER.md line 64 now carries the enamel_052-after-terra_209 requirement verbatim, not just terra_209's own header (grepped both). The 'a notice fails nothing' correction is the right generalization of my own third-review finding on TERRA-150 (a coverage arm that silently skips is not the same as an arm that passed) - noting this is the same failure shape as the CHECK-NULL defect, one level up: an assert that degrades to inert on missing input is as dangerous as a CHECK that degrades to inert on NULL input. No new defect. This closes my review of enamel_052/ENAMEL-39 - GO to apply, on db-terra-cc's verdict landing.

APPLIED and PUSHED 5dd3d27 (app v0.10.6). enamel_052 is now the source of record for terra_209's four guard objects; a rebuild from db/migrations produces them. Post-state read back in a separate call: both functions prosecdef=false with the search_path pin, both triggers tgenabled=A, service_role holds EXECUTE and anon does not, both comments present (which is what proves the apply used the file text and not a recalled body), zero selftest residue on all three tables. REVIEWS: audit-terra-cc PASS three times across two amendments (markers E39-audit-BLOCK-20260911-052-deletereach, then -052-fixed, then -052-fixtures), db-terra-cc BLOCK cleared with both fixes plus one they did not ask for. Their two findings that changed the file: P0001 is the shared code of every plpgsql RAISE so both arms now match code AND message text and re-raise on mismatch; and the behavioural arms had a skip path, and a notice fails nothing. THE SKIP FIX WENT PAST THE ASK, on a measurement: no migration in db/migrations inserts a single vocabularyScopes or vocabularyScopeMembers row - the live 8 scopes and 77 members were never seeded by this tree - so raise-on-skip would have made this file UNAPPLIABLE on the rebuild it exists for. Both arms now build their own disposable uuid-suffixed vocabulary, drive the guard against it, and require the refusal, depending on no pre-existing row. Residue proved rather than reasoned: both arms run, then SELECT the three tables BEFORE the rollback, 0/0/0 - the guard's own exception rolls the fixture back with the write it refused. TERRA-SIDE HOLE, found by db-terra-cc and fixed on their side at d5a55c2 (comment-only): terra's REPLAY-ORDER still replayed terra_209, which recreates all four objects from TERRA's text, so a terra-only replay silently regressed the transfer and no assert in either file could see it - both assert a post-state each satisfies alone. terra_209's header and REPLAY-ORDER.md:64 now require enamel_052 to land after terra_209. audit-terra-cc verified that in terra's tree independently. NOT CLOSED BY THIS ROW: ENAMEL-42, the coverage gap - 32 of 77 member rows sit in a scope lookupOptions does not back, so the outer IF skips them. Semantics were frozen on purpose; widening the guard inside an ownership transfer would hide a semantic change in a diff everyone reads as a copy. Also stated on the function comment and corrected during review: the hard-DELETE orphaning path IS application-reachable - service_role holds DELETE on both tables and authenticator is a NOINHERIT member of service_role, so any service-role key reaches it through PostgREST SET ROLE.
